About Team Glenorchy

Our task is to promote and drive the Glenorchy Community Plan, and function as independent auditor and promoter.

In 1999 Glenorchy City Council undertook an exciting project to find out what its citizens want their city to be like 20 years into the future. Out of this project came the Glenorchy City Community Plan – A Blueprint for the Future.

Recognising that to achieve the vision of its citizens would require a focussed effort by all stakeholders, Glenorchy City Council brought together a group of community leaders with the responsibility for overseeing the Community Plan’s benchmarking and its future development.

The membership of Team Glenorchy reflects the major sections of the Community Plan:

· Community Leadership and Participation
· Social
· Economic
· Environment
· Infrastructure

In addition, Team Glenorchy is charged with convening 'community forums' to facilitate projects and partnerships that assist in achieving the goals of the Community Plan.
