About Team Glenorchy

Our task is to promote and drive the Glenorchy Community Plan, and function as independent auditor and promoter.

In 1999 Glenorchy City Council undertook an exciting project to find out what its citizens want their city to be like 20 years into the future. Out of this project came the Glenorchy City Community Plan – A Blueprint for the Future.

Recognising that to achieve the vision of its citizens would require a focussed effort by all stakeholders, Glenorchy City Council brought together a group of community leaders with the responsibility for overseeing the Community Plan’s benchmarking and it’s future development.

The membership of Team Glenorchy reflects the major sections of the Community Plan:

· Community Leadership and Participation
· Social
· Economic
· Environment
· Infrastructure

In addition, Team Glenorchy is charged with convening 'community forums' to facilitate projects and partnerships that assist in achieving the goals of the Community Plan.

Team Glenorchy News

It is not often that we have an opportunity to make a significant difference within our local community. That opportunity exists NOW with this invitation to have your say on the Glenorchy Community Plan (2005 – 2025).

Most of you will be aware that in 1999 the Glenorchy City Council undertook an exciting project to find out what its citizens wanted their City to look like 20 years into the future.

The Glenorchy City Community Plan – A Blueprint for the Future sprung from this project.

It was recognised that in order to achieve the vision, and to assist the plan to evolve, it would require a co-ordinated effort from all. Council brought together a group of community leaders to oversee the Community Plan benchmarking and to develop it into the future.

TEAM GLENORCHY was born and it continues with that task.

As members of Team Glenorchy several of us have been tasked with finding out from you a number of things to assist us as we review the Community Plan:

 Is it still relevant
 How can we improve it
